International Network for Information on Ventilation and Energy Performance
NEWS

10 June 2010
Members of the Dynastee Network will meet in Brussels on 12 October 2010.

10 June 2010
The two days International Workshop will be held at the CCAB Rue Froissart 36, in Brussels (Belgium) on 11th and 12th October 2010.
The workshop will be jointly organized by the EC - Joint Research Centre and INIVE EEIG.
Scope:
The programme will be organised around three topics in order to address the whole chain from outdoor testing of building components to energy performance assessment of buildings in relation to EU Directives and CEN standards.

The DYNASTEE Network DYNASTEE stands for: “DYNamic Analysis, Simulation and Testing applied to the Energy and Environmental performance of buildings”. DYNASTEE is an informal grouping of organizations actively involved in the application of tools and methodologies relative to this field. DYNASTEE functions under the auspices of the INIVE EEIG and constitutes a sustainable informal networking mechanism, which is intended for those who are involved in research and applications related to energy performance assessment of buildings.

Over the years, the Grouping of Outdoor Test Centres (formerly PASLINK EEIG), has actively supported activities and initiated European research projects related to the energy performance assessment of buildings. Real experimental set-up for outdoor tesing of building components provided high quality dataseries for estimation of thermal characteristic parameters.

The objective of DYNASTEE is to provide a multidisciplinary environment for a cohesive approach to the research work related to the energy performance assessment of buildings in relation to the Energy Performance for Buildings Directive (EPBD).

Abstracts for the Special Issue of Building & Environment on the subject of Outdoor testing, Analysis and Modelling are now available.

The PASLINK EEIG network for outdoor test centres has changed its legal position in 2009 and has become an integrated network under INIVE EEIG (www.inive.org).

The activities of PASLINK will continue and emphasis will be on analysis and modelling in the DYNASTEE platform while testing will remain a topic of PASLINK. Further information on all activities will be presented on this web-site www.dynastee.info.
The name that will be used for the network will be DYNASTEE-PASLINK.

DYNASTEE-PASLINK will give a presentation on analysis and modelling during the PALENC 2010 5th European Conference on Energy Performance & Indoor Climate in Buildings (EPIC 2010) and 1st Cool Roofs Conference 29 September - 1 October 2010, Rhodes Island, Greece http://palenc2010.conferences.gr/

What does DYNASTEE

The building sector continues to account for approximately 40% of the final energy consumed in the European Union and whilst the energy intensity of consumption is falling as a result of technological advancements and proactive energy policy, standards of living and the demand for an improved indoor environment continue to rise.

Buildings and building technologies therefore remain an area where scientific research is of considerable importance for the development not only of new, innovative, efficient and effective products of limited environmental impact, but also for the development of tools and methodologies for analyzing the performance of these new products and the buildings into which they are integrated. This is in brief the work area of the DYNASTEE network. Such tools are also required for the development of simplified calculation methods for applications such as energy performance analysis of existing and new buildings, areas which will be addressed by the Directive 2002/91/EC The recast of the EPB-Directive will come into force across the European Union from 2010 onwards with a transposition phase of three years.
