The DYNASTEE Network
DYNASTEE stands for: "DYNamic Analysis, Simulation and Testing applied to the Energy and Environmental performance of buildings".
DYNASTEE is an informal grouping of organizations actively involved in the application of tools and methodologies relative to this field. DYNASTEE functions under the
auspices of the INIVE EEIG and constitutes a sustainable informal networking mechanism, which is intended for those who are involved in research and applications for the assessment of energy performance of buildings in relation to the Energy Performance for Buildings Directive (EPBD).

What is NEW

The first issue of the new DYNASTEE Newsletter is available. Read about the areas of competence of the DYNASTEE network partners and the latest on the new outdoor test facilities. Included as an addendum a brief overview of the ECBCS Annex 58 can be found.

The Summer School that will take place in Copenhagen 18-22 June, has registered 30 participants and reached the maximum number of participants. This is considered as a first successful step. In a couple of weeks the information and preparation documents package will be mailed to all participants.

DYNASTEE will get a new outlook. An impression is given below of the new header.

IEA ECBCS Annex 58
During 2011 the network organised two workshops that resulted in the successful submission of the IEA ECBCS Annex 58 proposal on the topic of "Reliable Building Energy Performance Characterisation Based on Full Scale Dynamic Measurements".
Major aim of the Annex 58 project is a collaboration in the ECBCS-context to:

        · Develop the necessary knowledge and tools to achieve reliable in-situ dynamic testing and data analysis methods that can be used to characterize and label the effective energy performance of building components and whole buildings.

        · Develop procedures with the focus both on the test environment and experimental setup as well as on the data analysis and performance prediction.

The outcome of the workshop, on 'Full scale test facilities for hygrothermal analysis', March 30-31 2011 in Brussels with the support of K.U.Leuven and UGent resulted in a colorful book on European outdoor test facilities that can be downloaded from here (31Mb PDF) or requested from arnold.janssens@ugent.be.

The Network of Excellence
The DYNASTEE network will be involved importantly in the Nettwork of Excellence of the Annex 58.

Summer school
A Summer School on "Dynamic calculation methods for building energy assessment" will be organized 18-22 June 2012 in Denmark at DTU in Lyngby (near Copenhagen).

The cost for the week-long Summer School is 250 Euro.
