The
3rd and final workshop for the Thematic Network IQ-TEST, organised by
the Joint Research Centre, IES - RE, was held in Ispra, Italy 25-26 September
2002, on the topic of:
Building
Energy Performance Assessment and Dynamic Modelling

An artistic view
of the Lago Maggiore where Ispra is located
Specific
parameter identification techniques enable the assessment of unknown thermal
parameters in building physical systems and in particular those systems
that have dynamic or non-linear behaviour (including photovoltaic and
ventilated facades).
Several interesting
lectures on the application of the software tools LORD
and the MatLab toolbox Ident
were offered at the workshop. One afternoon was devoted to exercises on
portable computers and to exchange experiences, to solve particular problems
and to give training on provided data series. An important aspect of the
Workshop was the presentation and discussion of the homework exercises
that all participants were asked to perform prior to the workshop. Experimental
data from a complex roof light system, measured in the well-controlled
Paslink test facility, was used for the homework
case study.

The
successful workshop concluded with the presentation of the new
Accompanying Measure project DAME-BC and the announcement of the
International Workshop on Dynamic Analysis and Modelling for Energy
Performance Assessment of Buildings, to be held at the JRC in
Ispra, Italy on 13-14 November 2003.
